(Spruce Kings Volunteer of the Year Gwen Poburan hands the winning Spruce Kings lottery home ticket to Kings Marketing Manager Jim Young who reads out the winning name)

“You got to be kidding” and “oh my goodness” were the reactions from Linda Naef, after she was informed she won the Spruce Kings Show Home tonight. Naef who is coming off a serious illness in 2007 said she just had a feeling she would win this years home and is glad 2008 is off to a better start. The 57 year old retired Ministry of Forestry worker bought the ticket last week at Northern Hardware. Naef admitted she has only bought tickets every other year. Naef and her husband plan to sell their house in Miworth and move into their new $360,000 home in the Aberdeen Glen subdivision.
This is also a huge victory for the Spruce Kings hockey club as this would be the first time the house would sell all 6999 tickets.  Spruce Kings will make a profit of approximately $250,000, which will assist with the team’s operating costs.

Winners all the way around. Congrats all.
I thought 200 of the tickets were stolen ? Did they re-issue the tickets that were stolen or was only 6799 tickets sold ? At the time of the theft it was announced the group would be out the $20,000. Any one know ?
Lunar. I believe they were able to reprint those stolen tickets but used the numbers 7000 - 7200 instead. Just what I heard, don't quote me on that. Cheers.
winners indeed, congrats

wondering a bit about the math though, the home is valued at $360,000, pretty sure it didn't cost that to build, free market capitalism and all. The early bird prizes were very nice but only added up to 20 or $25,000 or so.

6999 tickets @ $100 per ticket
= $699,900 - $250,000 = Costs of $449,900?

hmmmmm....

Other than that, great job by the Spruce Kings and to the community for supporting the local club!
