The Preisdent of Mexico, Vecente Fox, seems to be on our side when it comes to resolving trade disputes with the United States.

Speaking to the Board of Trade in Vancouver,  Fox didn't actually name the United,States, but did say  "Mexico regrets any unilateral decisions that fail to abide by the decisions of the arbitration panels where trade differences are discussed and aired."

Improving the dispute mechanism was discussed in tri-level talks held earlier this year with U.S. President George Bush and Prime Minister Paul Martin  when they all huddled in Texas.

According to Fox, change, is good: "Both Canada and Mexico are promoting the enhancement of the disputes mechanism so we can make sure we move aside all kinds of obstacles and construct more and more trading and investment."

We must be winning the trade fight with the anti-NAFTA rules people. Fox is smart to pick the winning side. He has a lot to lose and everything to gain on this issue. It would also be smart for the Chevas types of Central and South America to get in line for their own sake under Free trade of the Americas'.

Maybe Vecente has some pull with his hispanic neighbors? He seams to have a grasp of whats at stake.

Time Will Tell
Of course Mexico are on our side. The US of A have been taking us to the cleaners for years. We are the Peons of the north in the eyes of the States.
