Earth Moving In Ft.St. John

Today marks the first of three field trips in Ft St. John aimed at demonstrating the newest  oil and gas seismic technologies. 

"Seismic in Motion"  is a partnership between the B.C. Government and the oil and gas industry.  Energy Mines and Petroleum resources Minister Richard Neufeld says the "Seismic in Motion" project is a  great oportunity  for "communities and interest groups to better understand what really happens out there in the field."

All stakeholders from landowners, to trappers,  First Nations  to environmental groups can get details on how industry carries out operations like drilling and loading shot holes, and shooting and recording data.  Helicopters and certified climbing experts will conduct heli-rescue demos. Mulchers and line cutters will demonstrate the latest envionmental techniques while moving through the forest.
