The City of Prince George has received official notice it has qualified for some funding under the Canada / British Columbia Infrastrucuture Program.

The City had applied for funding for four projects, but  was successful with two,  namely the Exhibition Park Facility Improvements, and Stage One of the Hart/Nechako Water Supply Improvements.

The two  projects received just over $5.6million dollars under the program.

The City will now apply for further funding under a new, but similar program between Ottawa and the Province.

This time there may be a new request on the list, namely repairs to, or replacement of the Cameron Street Bridge.

I think if Canada wants to do trade with the new and emerging economies of China and India, then it makes economic sense for the whole country to fund the trasportation hub of Prince George starting with a dangerous goods route that includes a new bridge to the pulp mills.
I see it all,"The City of Bridges that start nowhere and end nowhere".
And the worst part of all this is Colin wants us to believe that its a gift from heaven but its all tax dollars different levels of government have taken from us. Some of us have been paying taxes for a long time but who gets the tax breaks our big corporations in BC they have just reaped a half billion in tax cuts.
