Resource Forum to Hear from Galore Creek
By 250 News
Prince George, B.C. - The Natural Resource Forum underway at the Prince George Civic Centre, will hear from the head of Nova Gold today. Nova Gold is one of the partners behind the Galore Creek project.
The multi billon dollar project was to have created more than a thousand jobs, and would have been the key to the electrification of the Hghway 37 corridor. That is on hold as the project has come in way over budget, mostly because of the development of a tailings pond.
Also on tap at the forum today, Prince George, Peace River M-P Jay Hill will be making an announcement on further measures to cvontrol the spread of the mountain pine beetle. The key goal of this effort will be to set up targeted spreac control measures.
There is a great deal of concern the beetle will make it into the boreal forest, which could cause havoc right across the country.
