Prince George, B.C. -  Results from one of the Geoscience BC "Quest" surveys conducted last year are set to be released on Monday at the annual Mineral Exploration Roundup conference in Vancouver.

The "Quest" project was announced in June of 2007 and has been funded in partnership with the Northern Development Initiative Trust (Northern Trust).

Phase one had a helicopter criss-crossing the region from Williams Lake to Mackenzie, mapping the area’s electromagnetic signature.  Phase two was an airborne gravity survey carried out in November and December.  (click here, for previous story)

Geoscience says a report containing the electromagnetic data will be released on Monday, along with re-analysis of stream and lake samples in the Quest area.

Along this same ’vein’, Serengeti Resources Inc. and its joint venture partner, Fjordland Exploration Inc., have just announced recently completed magnetic surveys over all 16 of their properties within the Quest project area.

The surveys were conducted between November and December and a compilation of preliminary results is in progress.

Serengeti President and CEO, David Moore, says these early results have significantly refined the targeted magnetic anomalies on all 16 properties.  Moore says once final results are received over the next few weeks, plans will be made for follow-up ground-induced polarization surveys, to begin this spring.

The Valhalla Wilderness Society must be getting a press release ready to condemn any mineral finds that result.

And the "native's" lawyers must be rubbing their hands together anticipating the location of more traditional sacred areas that happen to be right on top of the next mineral find.

Mining has it's challenges.
Yes, it's too bad Yamadoopolcat that there are those that don't worship money and all the dead junk that money buys. Too bad there are still those on this planet that care about what kind of planet we leave our great grand children. If it weren't for these bleeding heart tree huggers we could just pave the entire planet so that loggers, miners and other Earth killers could have full access to destroy what little is left of our wildlife and beauty. After all, it's all about "me" and what "me" wants right now, this day. A hundred years from now? Who cares! I won't be around so forget it.
Hope it ain't another Bre-x.
Hey! for the record, i buy living things with my money as well as dead ones. Also, we in the forest industry do not want to pave the whole planet so we can log everything! How silly! Trees dont grow on pavement so some holes or strips will have to be left as dirt.
I for one am getting a little tired of being called an earth killer, greedy and so on. For the record Kevin: your arguments have no validity. They are rants. They are usually insulting to large groups of people in this area. You are converting no one to your philosophy. If you wish to preach to the converted then just keep going as you are, though your following here is likely to be limited. If you wish to make points supporting environmentalism, gaia worship, conservation, or anything else, try to cut down on the rhetoric and dogma. We may not all be open minded here on this forum (including myself) but at least most of us try to be reasonable.
"After all, it's all about "me" and what "me" wants right now, this day. A hundred years from now?
-Thats right kevin.. i want mines to go through so we can sustain oursleves and build a viable future for our children. I want to log the dead trees and plant new trees for future generations! Man needs resources to survive no matter what generation you are living in.
Without exploration, without development, without jobs, how do I heat my house or feed my family. Come on Kevin explain that one to me. Also tell me how I'll get health care or education.
