Prince George, B.C. - So far, so good for residents living along the Nechako River to the west of Prince George...
The five red dots on the map above represent five homes along Old Takla Forest Road, where the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is carefully monitoring river levels in light of the massive icejam.
Regional District spokesperson, Renee McCloskey, says as of late yesterday afternoon, the road and driveways were still operable and there did not appear to be any immediate risk to those homes.
McCloskey says staff also surveyed the Miworth area and did not find any areas that warranted immediate concern.
Meantime, the growth of the icejam slowed considerably. After stretching five-kilometres in the 24-hour period between Monday and Tuesday. McCloskey says the head of jam was about half-a-kilometre further upstream yesterday and now spans approximately 27.2-kilometres.
