Prince George, B.C. -   This evening’s regular City Council meeting is the last before the 2008 budget deliberations begin on Wednesday...

Councillors will be asked to approve the proposed 2008 budget schedule this evening.  The first session is set for this Wednesday afternoon in Council Chambers at 4:30pm will feature an overview of the coming year’s budget, with Police and Fire Protection the first areas to be deliberated later in the evening session at 7pm.

Back to this evening’s agenda, officials on the City’s Emergency Operations Centre team will give a verbal update on the Nechako River ice jam.  The third in a series of weekly Community Flood Forums goes tomorrow evening at 7pm at the Civic Centre.

Also, councillors will consider giving first two readings on the proposed University Heights neighbourhood, just north of the intersection of Tyner and Ospika Boulevards.  If approved, the OCP ammendment and rezoning application would then go to a public hearing.

Hope the city mentions the cost of the lawsuit tween the Black Orchid escort service and themselves if anything has transpired with it. it. Ignorance is bliss? But not to this cowboy. Or will this be put on the last page under miscellaneous? Just wondering. People have such short memories. Gimme an update. Oh yeah, one more thing. As Inspector Columbo would ask, How about that potential connector road at the top of Ospika? Is that in the next twenty year plan?
Does anyone know that the city now allows heavy trucks to enter all residential areas at any time for any reason, for a period of 3 hrs.
Heavy trucks destroy our residential roads. I suppose it's ok because we now pay 4% more in taxes for road maintenance.
