Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George is renting homes and apartments for flood victims. So far, about a dozen rental properties have been secured for those who have been forced from their homes by the Nechako River ice jam and floods.

“The City is paying the damage deposit and the monthly rent” says Debbie Scarborough, who is in charge of Recovery efforts for the City.

The residents will need long term temporary housing for several months, as the repairs to their homes could take some time. (click on photo for video of Scarborough outlining some damages)

There is still a need for more rental properties “ Some have been staying with relatives, others have been billeted out, but they need to get their lives back to normalcy” says Scarborough.

Anyone with available housing should contact Scarborough at Prince George City Hall, 561-7600

Although 47 homes are under evacuation alert, and 24 under evacuation order, some residents opted to remain in their homes.

Where do they find these rental properties? Other than in the 'hood.
Other parts of town, are you interested in renting?
Not me but someone I know can't find an apartment that doesn't have a waiting list. Excluding dumpy slum places, the pickings are between slim and none. Got a list? My advice would be to sell the addresses.
