1,2,3 strikes you are OUT.
I'll second that. All in favour? Chester
Why was he released? Seems strange.
I'm in favor of the 3 strikes and your OUT!!!
Oh brother.
You cant put people away for life for crimes like breaking and entering, car thefts, etc; or you would have a penitentiary in every City and a great growth Industry. What this guy needs is approx 2 years less one day on the hill to contemplate his future, perhaps with some sincere guidance, he might see the error of his ways, and make some changes in his life, if not then next time around he should spend some time in the BC Pen.

If these are his first offences, and it seems alcohol is involved he does have a chance to straighten out.
This is not a good case for the 3 strike rule, and I agree 2 years less a day would be good, but it still needs to be sentence that he will feel!

What is 2 years a magic fix it number or something? They have been trying this molly-coddling of criminals for years..and it doesn't work. Maybe the need to try something different like 7days in jail for first offence, 14 days in solitary on bread and water for second offence, 40 lashes in public for third offence.
He'll get a reduced sentence because he confessed to two other b&e's. Mark my words.
He'll get probation. He does not have previous convictions for B+E.

An idea that I once kicked around was early but short jail time. Two days in jail on a first offence for anything, may or may not have an effect, but I would like to try it and see the results.

I just think that by the time most of these guys experience jail, they are already on to bigger and badder things.

I'd like to see if two days in solitary or segregation would make a difference earlier on.
How about he be given a rake and a shovel, transported to Baffin Island with a few others and told they will be building a golf course and when it is finished, they can leave.
here is what should be done, take him out to the bush beat the living crap out of him and leave him there, way too many nice people thinking he will change, he will get worse!!!
I like the common sense approach
