The UNBC women’s basketball team may have lost, but it was only by 3 points which means they’ll finish higher than they ever have before in the BC College Athletic Association. The Lady Timberwolves dropped a 68-65 decision to UBC Okanagan. UBC-O needed to win by more than 6 points to claim second place. UNBC will now get a bye in the first round of provincials which they will host February 27th to March 1st at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre. The news didn’t turn out as well for the UNBC men. They lost 78-72 to UBC-O. Combined with a pair of wins by Capilano College means the UNBC men will miss the playoffs, even though it will be in their own gym.
