The Prince George Spruce Kings picked a bad time for one of their worst games of the season. Or did they? The Kings had a chance to finish fifth in the Interior Conference with a win in Quesnel in their final regular season game. A win and they would have met fourth place Vernon in the first round of the playoffs. Instead the Kings were blown out by the Millionaires 7-0. The Kings settle for sixth place and will face the third place Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the opening round. Due to a scheduling conflict at the arena in Salmon Arm, the Kings catch a huge break and will host the first playoff game, instead of starting on the road in Vernon. The Kings have a day to prepare for the Silverbacks at home on Friday night. Game two of the best of five will be in Salmon Arm on Sunday, followed by game three Monday. If they need a fourth game it would be back in Prince George on Tuesday. If the series goes the distance, the fifth game would be in Salmon Arm on Wednesday.
