Prince George B.C. - Prince George, RCMP are displaying the weapons seized on Friday following the execution of a search warrant.

Police say they initially seized a loaded handgun in their Friday night search of a Prince George residence.  Three occupants of the residence left the scene and were later stopped by police who seized a large quantity of cocaine, 2 hand guns and an assault rifle.

In  showing the weapons seized, Constable Gary Godwin says its disquieting,  "We know these weapons are out there and that they are being used by those who are  involved in organized crime.’  Godwin won’t say  which "gang" the suspects are believed to be linked to, saying only that the activities  are consistant with organized crime.

The armoured vest shown in the photo had been seized earlier at a crack house, and is  evidence  of the kind of protection the drug dealers and  gang members are taking.

Godwin says  none of the  weapons seized had been reported stolen, but was not able to say if any were registered.  Certainly, they are the type  of  firearms that could only be legally in someone’s posession  through special permits or  a grandfathering clause, although the  31 shot clip in the  AK 47  is, in Godwin’s words "Clearly illegal."

The handguns  are a 357 magnum, a 45 semi-automatic  Detonic, and a 380 semi-automatic Berretta ( not shown)

The pistols will be sent to a crime lab in the lower mainland to see if  they match ballistics testing with any slugs retrieved from recent shootings in Prince George.  Godwin is not at liberty to say if any of the weapons seized is a match to the type of weapons used in recent  local  shootings.

There were four males and one female taken into custody over these guns.  One of the males is a young offender and has  since been released on conditions.

31 SINGE SHOT CLIP...Which is it?? A 31 shot magazine or singe shot. RCMP Could not say if they were Registered, WHY not does not the Gun Registery work, NOT ENOUGH MONEY WASTED ON IT????????
Wish they would tell us the address of these sort of things. Just so the neighbors know what is going on in their area.
That is not all...
"..One of the males is a young offender and has since been released on conditions.."

Aaww, the poor young tike. He probaly had trouble hold up that heavy gun and pulling the twigger.
It is just sad that 2 billion of our hard earned tax dollars were spent on the gun registry and the RCMP can't tell if the gun was registered or not. By the way I thought that Mr. Harper was going to scrap the registry right after he was elected...
Harper DID mention he would scrap the gun registry, but I guess that was when he was trying to get elected!
I guess he forgot about that.

Well Don Mackenzie if you had read the story you would have read it as a "31 shot clip" not a 31 single shot clip. LOL.
Also Don they couldn't say if the guns were registered, probably because they had not checked yet. LOL

PGDriver you didn't read the story either.
This is what was said "Godwin says none of the weapons seized had been reported stolen, but was not able to say if any were registered."

"WAS NOT ABLE TO SAY IF ANY WERE REGISTERED"

Even if they were registered do ya really think that it makes any difference whatsoever.

People really need to READ what is actually written before they comment.
lostfaith...Ben corrected story before you woke up... It read 31 single shot clip, wake up sooner and read story before corrections are done. or shut the f..k up
My guess would be that these weapons are probably imported from the Excited Statrs in exchange for BC Bud. If that is the case the gun registry is useless and the money to run it could be much better spent.
Not really a very nice way to reply there Don. Maybe you should read something on manners, eh?
LMAO Don aren't we special.
Maybe you should've corrected yourself after Ben corrected himself then we all could've been correct. ROTFLMAO
Get a life then like Kevin said learn some manners.

PS. if your going to talk to people in that way then perhaps you shouldn't be using your real name. Duh.
LMAO...It's the Don lostfaith show with host...(((Kevin)))

*insert gameshow music*

Hahahahahahaha....

Ok, seriously, registration is done by honest folks. The RCMP really only access the registry to confirm stolen goods, or identify good citizens gone "bad". If the weapons aren't registered additional charges may be pending and/or establishing ownership may be challenging---what the hell is an AK 47 doing around here anyhow? Ex military? Bullet proof vest? I have lots of questions.
I found this group of gun related facts on the internet....

A Little Gun History Lesson
3-7-8

* In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. This doesn't include the 30 million 'Uncle Joe' starved to death in the Ukraine.

* In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

* Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, leaving a populace unable to defend itself against the Gestapo and SS. Hundreds of thousands died as a result.

* China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

* Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

* Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. The total dead are said to be 2-3 million

* Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, 1-2 million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

* Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million at a bare minimum.

* Gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results:

Australia-wide, homicides went up 3.2 percent

Australia-wide, assaults went up 8.6 percent

Australia-wide, armed robberies went up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns.

It will never happen here? I bet the Aussies said that too.

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady DECREASE in armed robbery with firearms, that changed drastically upward in the first year after gun confiscation...since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
this will be an interesting one to follow...I'm thinkin it would have taken a couple minutes to punch in the numbers to the 2 billion $$ data bank to find out any known info on these guns...if they are or had been registerd or brought to this country legaly,or stolen , just like when they punch in your car plates or drivers licence. My bet is we won't hear to much about these guns again...and the charges....good luck!
Hmmmm...big firepower and body armour. Sounds like the gang hits are not over yet, somebody is obviously expecting someone to call.

I don't think these weapons were for use against the police or they would have used them. That means we are still in danger of more inter-gang violence.

Handguns are one thing, but I really don't like to see assault rifles in the hands of amateurs, especially in town.
I agree reasonableman, I prefer to see assualt rifles only in the hands of professionals, especially in town. LOL
While the R.C.M.P. were in town they should have kicked the doors in at every suspected crack shack instead of stopping 5000 vehicles or whatever the count was. The only thing stopping this would be the necessity of obtaining a search warrant. Why don't they need a search warrant when they check out your vehicle? I have no problem with them trying to catch drunk drivers but in my opinion the drug trade is far worse than drinking drivers. How many lives do the drug pushers ruin each year? I would guess a lot more than drinking drivers. I think the police are afraid of the gangs. Why do you never see one of those annoying loud Harleys stopped on the road? I think it is fear.
I propose we take all their guns away and give them pointy sticks.
