Opinion250 has removed the name of the car wash involved. If the car wash owner wishes to respond , please feel free.

I took my vehicle to a local car wash on Saturday March 15 where I paid $34.60 to have the interior and exterior washed and dried by hand.  After waiting nearly an hour to have it washed, I paid and drove off.  I immediately noticed that the dried up spilled coffee on my vehicle’s cup holders were not entirely wiped away and that there was a little mud on the interior door as well.  The exterior looked good though so I wasn’t going to say anything as my vehicle did look much better than when I went in.  However, when I went to open the back door of my vehicle to put groceries in later I noticed that there was still chunks of clay and mud smeared everywhere.  It was obvious that the hatch area had not been touched.

I drove back to the car wash where I saw the owner outside vacuuming a vehicle.  I opened up the back door and showed him all of the mud and told him that I had paid for a full interior wash and showed him my receipt. My tone of voice likely showed annoyance but I did not raise my voice or use swear words.  He said it should have been vacuumed, he did not apologize and then he said he would vacuum it for me but only after he finished some other vehicles first and he began to walk away.

In anger,  I slammed the back door of my vehicle shut.  He then approached me and physically loomed over me (he is over 6 feet tall) and yelled at me to "Get the F*&# out of here!  You do not slam the door in my face."  I told him that I did not slam the door in his face and that it was my car door and I could slam it if I wanted to.  I said that I had a right to be angry that I paid $34.60 to have about 6 people wash my car and somehow they missed washing the entire back.  He then told me that he would vaccuum my car only if I apologized for slamming my door and went back and closed it again gently.  I said I would not.  He again began shouting at me to F$#@ off and get out and said that I was an A--hole customer and that he did not have to vacuum my car.  I asked for my money back and again screamed at me to get the F*#$ out and said that I was "a real classy broad".

I left without getting my car cleaned or my money back.  This all took place in front of about half a dozen young employees.

I don’t know what to say about this incident.  It has left me shocked and angry.  I am very thankful that my 2 year old son was not with me and that no children were around to hear all that swearing and shouting.  I also feel this man was trying to use his size and the volume of his voice to intimidate me.  I was intimidated inside but was trying not to show it and stand up for myself the best I could.  I admit that I did call him an A--hole after he called me one.  I can honestly never remember one other incident in my life where I called someone that, much less raised my voice.

Better to wash and vacuum one's own vehicle then go there and (of all things) get involved in a *car wash rage* incident!

Sad result of today's stressed out society!

Get a group of friends together and picket his business. Check with the RCMP first for the rules you have to follow. get a picture in the papers if you can.
hmmm nice guy,,, what street...don't mention the name of the business just street name...I won't be seeing them for my detail work...cheers
You shoulda gived him a swift kick in the teeter beans, then he woulda had something to really swear about.
This same guy will cry the blues when his buiness is down because of a poor economy or another buiness opens up down the street.
Just another example of this being "just a job". Unfortunately it is not only the service industry that this occurs in. Teachers, Doctors, etc all exhibit this type of outlook.
I hope this guys' business suffers as this testimonial makes the rounds. We don't need to be supporting poor customer service!
This victim showed alot more restraint than I would have. Good For You!
Talk to the manager about this A--hole. Employee needs to be severely disciplined for this abuse to the customer.
Tell everyone you know. It's a small town :)
Ok once again what is the other side of the story?

"I slammed the back door of my vehicle shut"

-Obviously the person who submitted this sob story lost control in the first place.. No sympathy here until the carwash dude fesses up! Judge judy could have thrown this out in two seconds.
Obviously the gentleman in question curses due to a lack of command of the English language. Not very well educated it seems. Do not engage him again and tell everyone you know about it. Word of mouth in a small town should be able to do much damage. I will wait until I hear his side before passing total judgement. That is to say if he can read, has a computer and can type. Maybe some pal of his can direct him to this site and he can then get a clue.
It is difficult to talk to the manager when the person harrassing their customers is the manager. Not only I would I be mortified for treating my valued customer in this manner, but also for behaving this way infront of other customers and employees. He must be a real jem to work for! I do not feel the customer in question lost control. A service was paid for which was not recieved. This guy sounds like a bully, I wonder if this manger would treat a 6 foot 200 pound guy like this?
I have been in a number of different service industries and if there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is this.

Treat the emotion first and then the problem.

It has helped me be a better person in the service industry whether it is as a store manager, realtor or teacher.
Customer 101

When one receives a service, one should check to see if the service was received to the quality one expected, especially so when one uses a new service provider.

That is not intended to excuse the business manager or owner who provided poor service on two occasions with one customer based on the information provided.

1 - did not clean the car properly in the first place.

2 - on the second occasion did not apply the maxim that the customer is always right. One might not like some customers, but when one is in the service industry, one cannot allow that difference to get in the way of providing service.
Did someone once upon a time state that "serving the public sucks"? It does have a familiar ring to it. Don't it?
Why only the public?
Why not just admit that providing your part of the bargain sucks....??

Or "taking is easy, giving is difficult" ....

;-)

Some people just do not get it .....

:-(
It is, after all, the "ME" generation .... I am the only one that counts ....

;-)
Hey lady (and I use that word loosley) you started it....people who clean cars for a meager living deserve a break too, the owner offered to reclean your vehicle but it doesn't mean you go right to the head of the line. But you had to go balistic...you are a twit.
Even if the customer freaks out a little, the employee (or er) MUST NOT react like that. I am a delivery driver for one of the fine restaurants in town and admit to reacting badly a few times. Thankfully, still have the job.

If this guy worked at ACS, he would of been fired on the spot. Found out thru a worker there.
Maybe both of them over reacted, but the man is the one who will lose customers by acting like an ass. Has he never heard the saying "the customer is always right"?

Fine words of wisdom again o brilliant one. You've changed your name, but you can't hide your stupidity. Maybe Owl can provide spell checking for you.
I was at his wash one time when he flipped out on an employee. Fellow definitely has issues.
There's a place in town that will clean a car, including a muddy interior for under forty bucks? Sounds like a good deal. Business 101 would say that this business likely doesn't have much longevity.
It is never okay to yell at someone and use physical size and presence to intimidate. I don't care who you are or what you do. It is not okay to yell at a customer let alone swear at them. The manager of this "fine" establishment needs to give his head a shake. Obviously the customer hit a nerve. Perhaps his service is slipping and the quality provided to the customer all around is slipping, and he knows it. All I can say is that this incident is very unfortunate indeed, as I used to like to go to this business. (I've come away with the cup holders not being cleaned as well). However, at this point in time, seeing as I a woman and a customer who wants a job to be done right the first time and am especially one who wants the ability to come back if I feel the job had not been done to the extent of what was paid for - I will NOT be going there again.

The lady above could have gone to the RCMP with a complaint that she was being threatened by this gentlemen. Yelling at her like that and using physical intimidation must have felt very threatening, and this man should really watch himself in the future as the law has rules about behaviour like this.
I made a sugestions to a guy a few weeks ago about something minor and a third party dude interjected in (didn't even know what we were talking about) and picked a fight with me for absolutely no reason other then he was having a bad day I guess and he didn't like people that make suggestions. The guy was flipping right out, so I called him an idiot too (among other things) after I got mad myself.

The thing was it wasn't the confrontation that upset me (I was actually amused by it at the time) it was how angry it made me the rest of the day that there are people out there who can be that irrational and trigger happy for confrontation and that they get away with it. I guess when people are stressed out they can sometimes go ballistic, it just sucks when they cross your path. I don’t need the hassle.
How sad that so many people would take the time to comment on this no brainer. Try washing and cleaning your own vehicle like most of us.

Cheers
One more outfit that's not going to see me in there anymore to wash my car.
Sloppy management is what it is and it will rub off on the underpaid employees.
Hope I don't have to wait too long for the other half explanation of this tiff. Hey owner? Where are you?
"Try washing and cleaning your own vehicle like most of us."

That is not the way to keep money in the community. Those who make more than they need must spend it on such things, otherwise the system does not work ...
I appreciate the ability to take my vehicle and have a team of folks clean it up for me. And I am willing to pay whatever they charge for the service. I also appreciate the convenience and the time saving aspect.

I was disappointed recently when my fancy, chrome 17 inch wheels didn't appear to have been touched at all. I didn't realize it until I arrived back at home. And I didn't have the time to go back and have them redo it. As a regular customer, I would expect my concerns would be received in a reasonable fashion and dealt with in a proper way. Confrontation from me or the Manager/Owner would not contribute to a solution that would be beneficial for either of us. It's easier to keep an existing customer than trying to attract a new one. In fact, a happy customer is more apt to brag about the services they have received and do more advertising than any other type of advertisement.

Both parties must have had one two many challenges that day. Too bad. Life is short. Chester
