The Province is  awarding two  contracts to rehabilitate separate sections of Highway 16 to improve safety.

The first project will rehabilitate Highway 16, from Endako to the Canadian National Railway overhead near Fort Fraser.  The work will include Hot in Place Asphalt Recycling (HIPR), including a blending of 25 per cent Hot Mix asphalt and a pre-treatment of Asphalt Level Course, if necessary. The contract will be awarded on April 4, 2008.

The second project will expand Highway 16, from Silver Road to McBride Timber Road Passing Lane, about 25 kilometres west of Prince George.
The work will include:
* Combining the two Sweden Frontage Road accesses into one aligned with the Silver Road access with left turn lanes for east and west bound traffic.
* Increased number of turn lanes at the McBride Forest Road Intersection.
* Overhead lighting at both intersections.

How about rehabilitating the roads in this city. I was in Quesnel all weekend and barely saw a pothole. What are they doing differently?
