2nd Tentative Agreement At Kemess South

Prince George, B.C. - For the second time in a little over a month, there is a tentative agreement between  Northgate Minerals and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115 .  The union represents 300 production and maintenance  workers at the Kemess South mine.

The tentative agreement reached yesterday  covers three years.  The terms of the tentative Agreement have been accepted by both the Union's bargaining committee and Northgate following a recommendation made by a government appointed mediator.

The Union's bargaining committee has unanimously recommended ratification of the Agreement to its membership who will vote on the Agreement over the next three weeks. All operations at Kemess South continue to run normally, with no disruption to scheduled production.   

The union also  recommended acceptance of the previous tentative agreement, bt the membership rejected the  pact.
