Turn off the dam lights at City hall. "period". they look stupid at the best of times.

Cheers
What a bs, anything for political corectness!
Turning off my lights while Al Gore flies around in his private jet? Or how about Arnold Scharzenegger who flies EVERY day in his private jet to work.
These people are concerned about OUR carbon footprint?
LOL.
I have been trying to be good at conserving energy. I admit at times I fail miserably but for the most part there is very litttle if any wasted energy in my home.
I use all the energy efficient bulbs, buy the appliances that save the most and now for all this,
they are raising the cost of my energy because they are not making as much money.
So leave the lights on....
If Arnie and Al jumped off a bridge..............
I might go without pizza for a week to support hunger around the world. I will stay up late and not go to bed and support those who have no bed. I may camp outside when the weather gets warmer to support the homeless. Hey! Let us all do our part, eh?
If participating in this little effort so difficult, you can imagine why it's so difficult to make bigger sacrifices or efforts to reduce greenhouse gases. Chester

Ps. I will have my lights turned off at 8:00 pm on March 29th.
To chester and to anyone else it is time to get caught up on the real facts about this C02 thing. I have many sites questioning so called man caused global warming. Check out this one for a start and follow the links. icecap.us
Earth hour.... lights off for an hour. Pretty feeble. Not really accomplishing much but perhaps a teeny bit public awareness. How about turning off computers, TV's , turning down the heat, walking instead of driving where possible. What about more than an hour. Hey how about earth evening, lets all go outside for a stroll and meet our neighbors? As oil and energy prices continue to climb the working poor will be forced to reduce their carbon and pollution load on our planet by financial necessity. That includes me.
March 29 at 8:00 pm I'm going to turn on some extra lights. BC Hydro is raising the rates because their profit goes down. If we turn extra lights on the rates might go down.
The idea of turning off the lights was for ALL lights to be turned off including parking lot lights and street lights. It wasn't just about saving energy it was about light pollution.
Right on the money, Seamutt.

I have been following Icecap.us for quite a while and am convinced that the ghg hipe is just that. Al Gore is making a whole lot of money on this caper and imo I think he should be stopped and exposed for what he really is promoting.
While icecap has SOME valid arguments and SOME valid science don"t take it as truth, the whole truth and nothing but. Everyone has an agenda. Many brilliant scientists will argue the other way.
To wholeheartedly believe or deny what you hear is the way of the lazy. Question everything.
Climate Change is real. Its cause is another issue. Ask aussies if they're felling it.
The prairie dust bowl days look to be coming back. Evaporation is greater than precipitation and the glaciers that feed prairie rivers are going the way of the dodo.
Whole islands in the south pacific are under water, while the sea level in Tofino has dropped. Radical swings are everywhere.

So, while we may not be the cause, we should be ready.
I don't think energy conservation, alternative energy, and less consumption are bad ideas.........but the oil companies do. And they fund a lot of anti-climate change media .

Could it be that as people lose faith in the markets & finance industry and as the US dollar collapses the uber rich are devising a whole new currency to keep the working class under their thumb? CARBON TRADING ?
Just puttin it out there.
