Prince George RCMP are investigating the atttack of a rottweiler, and subsequent shooting of that dog.

The incident happened early yesterday when a rottweiler attacked a 27 year old man and his small dog in the Queensway- Regent area of town.  The small dog was killed in the attack,  and the rottweiller then turned its attention to the man.

Two passing motorists were able to place their car between the attacking dog and the man and he was able to escape.

Police attended at the dog's house, and were forced to fire several shots, killing the animal when the dog tried to attack the officers.  The Police investigation continues.

I guess the new collective punishment laws for pitbull owners failed to predict this?

Someone made a smart comment about testing dogs, but then who would know what dogs are and are not tested?
It should be interesting to see what kind of fine the owner gets for having this dog at large. Hopefully, it's a BIG one.
If you have ever been attacked by a dog, you will not be quite so sympathetic with the owner. I certainly didn't receive any sympathy from the owners when I was attacked. It seemed that the dogs and their owners receive more attention than the victim.

We have a real problem, not with the dogs, but with the owners, who must take responsibility for them and be accountable to the public.

I heard a saying the other day, "If you have a rat problem, get rid of the gargage."

The dogs aren't really the problem, are they?
