The B.C. Supreme Court has made a decision regarding penalties for the BC Teachers being in Contempt of Court.

No fines for the moment, instead, Madame Justice Brenda Brown has placed restrictions on how the BCTF can use its assets for the next 30 days.

So for the next month, the union cannot issue any strike pay, nor can it accept any money from third parties to support the job action.

Justice Brown has appointed a  monitor to make sure her orders are being followed. and she has reserved the right to impose further penalties.

About time we got a judge who uses common sense. RIGHT ONE. GREAT SLAP IN THE FACE FOR THE GOVERMENT.
I guess this make you people that support the DARK SIDE (goverment) Pissed off. Will Gordon Campbell start DRINKING AGAIN???
What? Do you mean he stopped?
HE SAID HE DID.
This should prove to be a wakeup for the teachers, no monies received for the time that they are out. Let us witness the exodus of the collective off the picket line and back into the classroom so that they don’t lose any more pay.
I am surprised that there isn’t talk of civil disobedience toward the BC Supreme court. A non elected body dictating how the BCTF can disperse their assets, sounds like the court is imposing a decision on the teachers without negotiation.
You don't think for a moment the teachers (or anyone for that matter) considers 50 bucks a day money?? When the Alberta teachers association gives money to the BCTF do you think Gordo has any right to fine them? I can hardly wait to se his sober face when that happens. Surely you realise that he has no power over other teachers associations. Shirley--you jest!
Hey Krisb crawl back into your logging rig and wait till the government goes after your breed.
There's foxes in the hen house
Cows out in the corn
The unions have been busted
Their proud red banners torn
To listen to the radio
You'd think that all was well
But you and me and Cisco know
It's going straight to hell

So come back, Emma Goldman
Rise up, old Joe Hill
The barracades are goin' up
They cannot break our will
Come back to us, Malcolm X
And Martin Luther King
We're marching into Selma
As the bells of freedom ring
