Price George, B.C. - The General Manager of the Prince George Airport Authority, Stieg Hoeg says the Airport Authority came away with some very positive comments after they made a presentation to the International Airport Council Cargo Forum.

Prince George presented its progress so far at the airport, how they got there, and where they are going.

"We put the opportunities out there in front of the investors with a view to attracting them in the logistics part of the airport expansion and received  a great deal of interest" says Hoeg.  "A number of people were interested to the point that they have requested more information from us. "

Hoeg says the Council was very positive "We cannot finalize any plans until the airport expansion is complete, but I can assure you, we accomplished every single thing that we had hoped for."

"We cannot begin attracting cargo shipments to Asia or anywhere else until such time as we know where the planes are going. The back haul prospects are enormous and that’s what we are building for. "

The new runway expansion at the Prince George Airport will be finished by this fall and already there has been interest expressed in using the strip for re fueling.

Darn. This is looking like a success story!
Yep, Can't hold us back now.

Give the right people with vision, hold them back with accountants, lawyers. You will always get results.
"We cannot begin attracting cargo shipments to Asia or anywhere else until such time as we know where the planes are going."

That is a bit of a disconcerting statement. I would have thought that would have been identified in the business plan for the runway expansion.

Perhaps it is a quickly moving target.
Yeah all the backhaul of the cargo containers is going so well so far. The only thing going to be backhauled out of here is mill equipment to China as the mills get closed down.
Ooh wee bucky! We's rilly hitten the big time now huh! Purt neer like the big smoke now!

Congratulations on reaching the potential market we need, to expand our services at our airport. Every time a plane touches down in PG, it's a source of revenue and jobs. I encourage and support the work done and commend the people involved for pursuing their vision, inspite of the nay sayers. Chester
