Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George Football Club (PGFC) played their hearts out tonight in the first of two exhibition soccer games against the Edmonton Drillers at the CN Centre this weekend.  Although the team would fall 8-5, fans were on their feet at the end of the game as they cheered on the local players.   The game started off rocky for Prince George as they would score on themselves only minutes into the game.  It was obvious Prince George had been practicing together for some time as they passed the ball and worked well together, however The Edmonton Drillers would answer back with their experience as they were first to many of the balls and out shot PGFC.

Organizers of the event were very happy with the attendance of 2140 and the atmosphere of CN Centre.

Sonny Pawar, Assistant Player Coach of PGFC was thrilled with the support and the crowd. “I was a little disappointed with the loss however we just have to regroup for tomorrow’s game, the atmosphere was absolutely amazing.”

Sipho Sibiya, Player Coach was very excited as he stated “this is a dream come true for a lot of these guys, and me too as I have really wanted a franchise here for so long.  I think the fans really enjoyed it.  We almost tied at the end with a three point goal.  We need to eliminate a lot of mistakes that we made today for tomorrows game.”

The second game takes place tomorrow at 1:00pm at CN Centre.  Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster.

does 2140 people even pay the rent for the night?
2140 Seems awful high. Have no idea where they would sit or stand. I suggest that this number be clarified.
Probably in the ~6000 seats ;)
Your right rambleon. I though the game was played at the Sportsplex, misread the article. Now it makes sense.
