Search Continues for Father of Murdered Children

Merritt, B.C. - RCMP are now looking for Allan Dwayne Schoenborn in connection with the deaths of three children in Merritt.
Sunday afternoon, the bodies of three young children were found in their residence. Merritt RCMP and South East District Major Crime are continuing to investigate the incident as a homicide. While no arrests have been made, investigators have been and are continuing to actively search for the children’s father, Allan Dwayne Schoenborn as a suspect.
Schoenborn fled the area prior to the children being found and has not yet been located. There is no indication that Schoenborn is deceased.
Although it appears to be a targeted offence, police are requesting that the public not approach Schoenborn if located as he may be dangerous and has suffered from a mental illness. He may be traveling with a large dog (Shepherd/retriever cross named Van Gogh) and had previously expressed wishes to camp out in the bush with this dog.
SCHOENBORN is described as:
- 40 years of age
- Caucasian
- Hazel eyes (more yellow)
- Brown hair
- Stubble
- 163 CM (5 feet 4 inches)
- 59 KG (130 lbs)
- Scars: He has a distinct scar on right eyebrow which continues down the right side of his face; and
scar on both ears
