Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George Airport Authority will be getting a letter of support from the City of Prince George for an Air Cargo plan.

Airport General Manager Stieg Hoeg appeared before Council this evening, asking for a letter of support that can be included in an application for funding.

The Northern Development Initiatives Trust  has funding available for marketing plans for regionally beneficial projects.  Hoeg says  there is as much as $20 thousand dollars available for such a marketing plan and a letter of support  would help secure those funds.

The Prince George Airport Authority recently made a presentation to the International Airport Council Cargo Forum and came away with some very positive comments.  Hoeg says there are four companies  interested in  taking advantage of the opportunities presented by Prince George Airport.  Hoeg also  advised Council  the airport is working with Wetern Diversification in the development of a multi-modal development plan.

Stieg Hoeg says as they meet with potential customers,  they are learning there are many more opportunities, so  a new marketing plan, complete with a  dvd that shows a three dimensional  representation of the new "logistics" park needs to be developed.

The marketing package could be ready  within  6 weeks or so.

Oh I'd really like to see that! :)
The possibilities...Can I get a peek?
Another welfare case living off the taxpayers dime.

Cheers
Talk about two bit local yokals. Here we have a case of:

Initiatives Prince George funded by the City of Prince George having money available for Regional Marketing Plans. The Airport Authority owned by the Federal Government is applying to the City of PG to get a letter of support from the City so that they can access the money from IPG, who got it from the City. To make things worse I beleive that the City, IPG, and the Federal Government along with the Province and Regional district have directors on the Airport Authoritys board of directors. ***Do we have a conflict of interest here?***

These Bozo's will do anything to get their hands on our money.

$33 Million for runway expansion.
$1.75 Million in Airport Improvement Fees,
Loans from the local bank, and the Federal Government along with many Federal write offs.
No rent to pay to the Feds until 2011 and still they come with hat in hand, pleading like David Copperfield, MORE; MORE; MORE;

What a sad state of affairs.
They already have our money.
What plan? I don't see a definite highway infrastructure plan in place nor a firm industrial park approved by the city? Did I miss something?
