Prince George, BC. – Yes the weekend was unusually cold, in fact, two new records were set.
Saturday, the low of m -9.9 was colder than the previous record of -9.4 set in 1951
Sunday, the overnight low was -8.5 which was colder than the old record of -6.4, set in 1954.
No relief in the immediate forecast, as Environment Canada says the warmest it will get in the next few days is Friday when the high will be minus 2, although there are flurries predicted for Thursday and Friday.
Interesting note, historically, the hummingbirds return to Prince George no later than the 24th of April.

I always thought the big chill was the treatment you get when you come home drunk at 3 AM, expecting intimacy.
City Council's fault.
Well the humingbirds are here in Cowichan Bay but they are nearly frozen also. That darn global warming...........
I will be down there fishing the Cowichan river next week.
Bring your longjohns and mittens....
I can't believe all the people that still think Al Gore and David Suzuki and their cronies are telling the truth about global warming. This is plain and simple another "money grab for the flavor of the day". Any of the scientists that are on side with them are only after their research money as well. Maybe they forget that the earth used to be covered in ice. Naturally it is getting warmer in some places. It has been for millions of years. Get used to the fact.
Got that right Duffer!
Duffer is totally right. Al Gore and David Suzuki are getting very rich off fear mongering. I turn them off when they appear on TV.
Would some one pay big bucks to see Al or Dave with a snow shovel in their hands grumbling about the cold?
And that is why we have to pay a carbon tax.
Cold, but the snow continues to evaporate.
OK, maybe the big chill was what everyone got when they asked the city to remove the berm on River Rd. ??
