Prince George, B.C. -  The Provincial Government has delivered final payments on two projects it  funded in Prince George,

A cheque for  $110  thousand was presented today to mark the final  installment  for the Province's share of the  funding for the  new  overhead video screen and instant replay system.   The full  Provincial portion was  $330,000.

The  local MLA's also delivered  the final  cheque for the Province's share of the bill for the Northern Sport Centre.

There was also a cheque for $50 thousand  presented to Mayor Colin Kinsley.  That money  is to  further Prince George's  efforts to  "Twin" with  Asian  cities.

The City can use the money to plan its twinning program, identify potential partners and support travel for senior officials to conduct face-to-face meetings. Focus will be on relationships with communities in China, Japan, Korea and India. The funds will also provide assistance to develop materials to promote the community's twinning efforts - including costs related to translating materials and provide cultural awareness training for staff and council members involved with initiative.

Heck they can create a lot of potholes with that much money. However another million dollars worth of potholes would make them like identical twins to us.=)
Hong Kong Kinsley ?
Oh goodie, a twinning program. Those have always proven to increase a cities tax base. Maybe they can show us how to build roads and plan intersections too.
Hong Kong Kinsley, now that has a nice wring to it. Get it?
metalman.
I still can't pronounce the name of Quesnel's Japanese sister city. Is there any benefit ? Does the mayor of Quesnel regularly visit Japan ?

An aside, does anybody know how to change a flat tire in a 3' deep pothole ?

Just curious....
