Guess she doesn't like being at home.

If she doesn't like being at home it may be due to her being a teenager and her parents or guardians saying NO to her or she was asked to actually do something around the house to help out.
That statement coming from the parent of a teenager that couldn't accept the word NO and developed mysterious illness or injuries when asked to do anything around the house. She is now 18 and has worked a total of 3 weeks since graduating last July. Thats ok though because she has her mother and grandmother that will give her almost everything she asks for.
Did that sound like a dig at the mother and grandmother?

The crack is free until you can't live without it, then you need to support your own habit, they can't afford to give it to you for free.

Guess what kind of work you qualify for, to pay for a habit that costs several hundred dollars a day.

If you don't like the idea of working the streets, they will teach you how it's done.

Yes Rambleon thats true however that doesn't mean things at her home are the way they are because of anything her parents did wrong.

I know the family. They are law abiding tax paying middle class citizens. They own their own home, they spend time together, they eat dinner together. The girl has well adjusted siblings. She was released to CPS probably because there are 2 VERY young kids in the home and it was the smartest thing to do for the night. The fact that she disappeared again has more to do with the fact that RCMP should never released her to CPS, they never should have released her period until her parents could get an action plan in order. She should have been remanded at PGYCC for at least 24hrs giving her parents the time to figure out what to do.

Just my opinion though.

Put your heads and your hearts in the right place and remember that this is a missing CHILD with a sorrow-filled family at home waiting for her. Your ignorance and assumptions are not going to bring this girl home. Do something constructive to contribute to her search rather than make idiots of your selfs!

Basicly the parents have no say in what happens to their children anymore. Even if the girl had been kept locked up what action plan could the parents tried to engage in? There is no way that any parent these days has any power to control what their teenage children can and cannot do. If they have a mind of their own then we as parents pretty much are along for the ride.
What are you going to do, spank them?

We were all better off when we could legally put our children over our knees and whip their butt's. Now we have to let them do pretty much what they want as there are no longer any consequences to their actions, but severe consequences to us for ours.

maybe its because im an unusually smart teenager? wait that cant be it! i have many, many friends who are in the same situation as i am. hmm sounds familiar doesnt it? amanda comes from the same type of home as i do, or at least thats what asdfjkl; claims. she is stupid enough to run away from parents who obviously love her to get mixed up with a 27 year old crackhead.
so if your way of thinking how this happens is " shes just a teenager, she thinks she knows everything" shove it. you wonder why as teens we rebel? it is because people like you label us as good for nothing. I pay taxes too, just like any other person with a job.
maybe she is rebelling because her parents have this attitude? no one thought of that now did they? i for one think that if she is stupid enough to want to ruin her life with a 27year old crack head, let her. its just survival of the fittest in action, in this case survival the mentally fittest. i for one do not want my tax money being used on a lost cause. do not label me as heartless or something along those lines. im not heartless, i am just a teenager who thinks that if teens are stupid enough to run away from home they deserve whatever comes down their lifes road. it isnt my fault that teens like amanda are ruining my teenage image by doing stupid things like this.
