Summer athletes will get their latest start in more than a decade. Thanks to a late spring to no one’s surprise the summer sport season is going to be delayed. With plenty of snow up in the hart and the sports fields downtown finally becoming clear, it looks like most summer sports leagues will be delayed until around late in  second week of May. Usually most sports leagues are allowed on the field by May 1st but that won’t be the case this year. The fields that are clear still need time to dry out before the city will allow anyone on them and the likely start up date will be around May 10th. The only outdoor exception may be some of the ball fields that do not have a lot of grass, but that is still up in the air. One summer sport that will begin on time is Senior Men's lacrosse which is indoors, anyways and it begins next week.
