I hope they are going to use better quality pavement this time. Has anyone noticed the already poor condition of the pavement they put down last summer from hwy.16 / 97 down to first avenue. The intersection at hwy. 16 / 97 is showing extreme wear, as is the intersection at 20th ave. and hwy. 16. This pavement is not even a year old. Is this all we can expect up here, or will the Provincial Government be going back for warranty??
Whoopdedo! And the billions being spent in the real B.C. the Lower Mainland.
Does anyone know if there is any sort of standard for what kind of load "normal" pavement is rated for? Is it built to withstand heavy use from industrial traffic? What about "regular" traffic? Is it engineered to last a certain amount of time given "nromal" traffic patterns? If so, what is that norm based on? Cars? Trucks? 1 ton trucks? Do the vehicles we choose to drive up here have any longer term impact on the condition of our roads? Are we partially to blame for the durability we experience?

Just questions. I haven't a clue whether a 1 ton truck, over time, would have any significant impact on the condition of pavement, as oppopsed to your average passenger car. I'm sure that not having a dedicated heavy traffic route would.
The highway is some what obnoxious right beside the turnoff to the underpass to Wallymart. Grrr.
GREAT....going to have to put up with either delays or bad potholes.....which would i rather....how about spending that money on fixing the potholes...(yes i mean giving it to the city to actually repair the roads)
Which three roads are part of the project? I suspect they plan is to do one intersection at a time so alternate routes are available during construction...
I hope the govt doesn't expect kudos on this one. Long overdue!
