This time, it was clearly off the shoulder of the road.

Previously the trucks had slid off the road while turning on to a ramp.

Business owners along the built up river road have been calling for the dismantling of the temporary berm saying it is unsafe for   heavy truck traffic.

The City  says the berm will remain in place until the  first phase of the  Flood Risk Assessment is done.

Wait till someone is hurt I guess. Then maybe some action
Start the lawsuits against the city.
THEN they might actually do something with this mess.
I was down there a couple of weeks ago, and it's more than a bit spooky in places!
How you could drive a pickup off that berm is puzzling to me. I could see the big truck what with the extra room needed, but I'm willing to bet that this incident involves a cell phone.
Soft shoulders? Crowded off the road?
Just touch the shoulder on this kind of road and you are gonzo!
Which is exactly what makes it so dangerous!
Does the city have to kill someone first before they do something?

Some one is going to get killed or badly injured because of this supposive dyke.

My thoughts exactly HBS.
He drove it off the wrong side of the road.
Failing to keep right is what it's called on the ticket you get for this offence.
Or perhaps undue care and attention.

He Speaks
How can you hold the city responsible for some idiot that doesn't know how to pay attention to the job at hand, namely driving two tons of steel down a public road. Imagine if someones family ended up underneath that thing.
This pickup didn't just fall off the road all by itself. The driver drove it off the wrong side of the road.
How many sleeps untill november 15.......
188...........cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did the truck have a sticker on the side of the box that says, "4X4 Off Road?" I bet it did. So why complain?
Come on city of pg... lets get your act together and remove this joke.
If this truck went off the shoulder anywhere else, it'd be the driver's fault and everyone would be shooting off their mouths on how the driver was a menace on the road. Probably mentions of cell phones, make-up application, shaving, not paying attention, the list goes on. It goes off the side of River Road and it's the city's fault.

Want to stay on the road? Stay off the shoulder.

So these losers have no idea how to drive and thats the cities fault.....oh please drop the BS.
I think that the mayor and his flunkies are idiots.
But even I cannot go so far as to blame them for the poor driving of others.
If Kinsley himself drives off the road its his own fault.....but blaming him and others because people are driving too fast, or not paying attention or whatever is BS.

That pickup and chip truck both are driver error, and nothing more.
If you cannot safely negotiate a curve in a rig, stop, and do not go around it.
I drove a huge fuel tanker for years, hauled 60,000 litres of gas per trip, and I had to make judgement calls every single day.
If i deemed a road unsafe for travel, I just never went down it.
I have driven river road several times as of late to see how bad it really is, and if you drive off that road, just hand in your keys, and stop driving period.
Drove down it just last week, and it was NOT a difficult task.
I have driven far worse roads on a regular basis.
So stop blaming others if your a crappy driver.
Thats what happens when a golden unicorn steps out in front of you... you should of seen it....
I agree hard to blame the road when the guy drives off the wrong side of the road... unless it was because he was blinded by all the dust... I noticed the city was down there putting calcium on it this morning.
Obviously he/she had swerved once to much to avoid the potholes on that road.
I love all of you armchair quaterbacks. Why don't you talk to the driver and get his story?
Whats a quaterback? some kind of swamp creature? a shellfish?
inquiring minds need twono.
metalman.
LOL get the drivers story you say, thats a good one.
I was just driving down the road and fell off the side of it. Damn road.
Well I thought maybe I had just driven the now famous River road on good days, and it had gotten worse.

So with my 29 foot long enclosed trailer in tow, took my long box, crewcab truck down there today.
Drove it from end to end, and I still do NOT see how a driver manages to drive right off that road unless they are either a really crappy driver, or fell asleep.

Maybe they got tired while waiting at the timed traffic light in the middle of it, and their foot slipped off the clutch, and the vehicle lurched ahead and over the edge ???

Or while talking to their buddy on the cell phone while eating a donut, balancing a cup of Timmy's between their thighs, while checking their hair in the mirror at the same time.....they lost control and their truck went over the edge.

But really if you cannot drive that road, PLEASE do us all a favour, and go take driving lessons.

Even the pothles on it, while plentiful, are not nearly as deep and harsh as those found on many major streets here in PG.
