More Than 100 Attend Open House On Current Golf Lands

Prince George, B.C. – About 130 people signed in to the open house to look at the three options for the lands at Highway 16 and 97.
The three plans call for property to be set aside for expansion of the Pine Centre Mall, seniors housing an auto-mall, a hotel, a golf course and a mix of commercial and residential zonings. It is the mix of commercial and residential which differs o the three concept plans.
Those who attended were encouraged to fill out a comment form indicating which of the three concepts they preferred. More than one sheet indicated “none of the above.”
Some of the comments called for more green space that would be more park like in addition to a golf course and connective trails to make any development more pedestrian friendly.
The comment sheets will be used to identify the public’s prefered plan and address concerns before any final plan is presented for approval.
