Building Permit Numbers and Values Down

Prince George, B.C. - The latest development permit news from the City of Prince George shows that  in April, the number of permis issued  in April (59) is down from the same month a year ago (74).

The value of the permits in April 2008 was $6.99 million, compared to $11 million in the same month a  year ago.

The  "year to date" figures are still strong, with the current year to date value at $26.8 million on 177 permits compared to $26.72 million on 192 projects last year at this time.

 

 

Among the projects  issued permits in April of this year,  are:

  • 20 New Single Family Dwellings,  worth $4,692,675.
  • Interior renovations to the former Food Teller building on George Street to  create the new Tony Roma’s Restaurant – $1,200,000.
  • A 56  unit multi-family dwelling on Westwood Drive,
  • Friendship Lodge

Any word on the super duper car lot just west of the Bon Voyage? I don't see no little stakes with pink ribbons. Maybe with all the job losses in Ontario in the automotive sector, maybe this got put on hold. Any info?
I heard they don't like the location anymore and want the area where the City Play House is. Great idea, mow down one of the only cultural complexes in the city to make room for a bigger car lot.
The property is for sale again...they now have their eye on hwy 16 and 97...stay tuned!!!!

P.S.

If the playhouse IS a cultural complex, WE gotta big problem....
That's the story in this city, isn't it? Ask for it and you will get it, as long as you are a private developer.
