Youth of the Year Named

Prince George, B.C. - The 2008, "Youth of the  Year" has been named.  Janine Rylander, a College Heights Secondary School student.  She had the top overall grade point average in her class this past year and has been on the principal's list three years in a row.

Her volunteer work list was three pages long including, the Royal Bank Cup, the Red Kettle campaign, Terry Fox Run, and St. Vincent dePaul.

In making the presentation, Mayor Colin Kinsley said "Her future is bright,   and I am so proud to present Janine  with the Youth of the Year certificate."

I help out at St Vincents dueing my layoff time and enjoy it lots. It touches me when people like Janine volunteers there and other area. Working for money isn't everything when you can give your time to volunteer and know you have contributed to society.

On another point, I am in China and am safe from the earthquake. Wonderful country!!!!
