Wanted Man Arrested

Ft. St. John B.C. - The man wanted in connection with a shooting in a Ft.St John has been arrested.

Gary Mills was arrested in Powell River yesterday on his outstanding warrants and remains in custody. 

Mills, is currently charged with Attempted Murder Using a Firearm, Break and Enter, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited, Impaired Driving and Flight from Police in relation to a violent incident that occurred in Fort St. John British Columbia on June 29, 2007.

On that date it is alleged that the accused broke into a residence in Fort St. John and waited inside the residence until the occupants arrived home. Once home the male and female occupants were confronted the accused gunmen, who then allegedly shot the male occupant in the face area fled the scene.

The Fort St. John RCMP searched throughout the day for the suspect and located him driving a vehicle at approximately 6:30 pm. He fled from Police and later stopped his vehicle in a rural area of Fort St. John. After three hours of negotiating with the suspect, the Fort St. John RCMP arrested Gary MILLS, 58 years of age, and brought him into custody without further incident.

Gary MILLS was held in custody and later released by a Judge to reside in Powell River, British Columbia, and abide by several strict conditions. The Powell River RCMP have been continuously monitoring Gary MILLS since his release to ensure his compliance with the court order conditions.

The Powell River RCMP conducted curfew checks on Gary MILLS over the weekend of May 3rd and 4th, 2008 and determined that Gary MILLS had breached his court ordered release conditions. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

It's nice to know that they release losers like this guy into the community while they await their day in court for a slap on the wrist.
Just imagine what they would have done if Mills had done something serious like "SPEEDING" or "NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT" or God forbid, SMOKE IN THE WRONG PLACE." He may have never gotten out of jail...

I think they should put him under house arrest.
