Prince George B.C. - Companies bidding on the construction of the new Anderson Road near Red Rock weigh scales have an extra week to submit their documents.
The deadline has been extended to the 22nd of May.
The new scale will feature “weigh in motion” which means the scale will be placed in the middle of the highway and will use new technology which can identify which trucks are overweight and will have to pull in to the scale for official weight.
The project is estimated at $25 million dollars, the bulk of the cost is to widen the highway to four lanes to accommodate the system. The project is supposed to be complete this fall, a full year later than originally planned.
