Prince George, B.C. -  The River Forecast Centre has issued a High Water Level and Flow Advisory for the Fraser River.
The Fraser is expected to reach 9.0 metres at the South Fort George river gauge area by midnight tonight and maintain that level until Tuesday morning, when levels will start dropping slowly.

At 9.0 metres, the City may experience localized flooding along unprotected stretches of the Fraser River. Ground water may begin to seep into basements in structures near the river and across low-lying roads at current river levels. City officials will continue to monitor the river. Affected residents and businesses will be advised of any increases above the current predictions.

All citizens are cautioned to stay well away from the banks of the Fraser and other rivers during high flow conditions, due to the danger of cold, fast-moving water.
