Prince George, B.C. - A truck reported stolen has been recovered and it was found by the friend of the owner.

A few days ago, a resident of McIntyre Crescent reported his Toyota Tundra pickup had been stolen.

Earlier today, the friend of the truck’s owner spotted the vehicle driving into the parking lot of the Superstore in prince George. He followed the vehicle, and watched as it was parked in a loading zone just before 3:00 this afternoon. A male got out of the truck and went into the store.

The friend called the rightful owner advising he knew where the truck was, then went into the truck and removed the keys.

The thief came out of the store, got into the truck, and panicked when he realized the keys were missing. The friend, along with the vehicle owner, and another male, held the suspect until police arrived.

A 33 year old male has been arrested and taken to cells. He is now facing a charge of possession of stolen property .  Police say the suspect is well known to them and was the subject of investigation by the crime reduction team.

"..the suspect is well known to them and was the subject of investigation by the crime reduction team.."

Ya have to laugh! The only way we are going to get any relief from this guy is to do the Singapore Cane on his tender parts...and that ain't going to happen.
Why did the thief have the keys to the truck?
"The friend called the rightful owner advising he knew where the truck was, then went into the truck and removed the keys"
Not hard to steal a vehicle when the keys are left in it.
I guess the "crime reduction team" must have lost track of the guy they were investigating, or did'nt anyone tell them the truck was stolen? The term crime reduction team sounds like a political moniker.
metalman.
Happened to be in ICBC a while back and was chatting to a ICBC employee. Got on the topic of the high rate of stolen vehicals in our fair city...I asked why the Police can't catch these thieves. ICBC replied " Well they know who they are" I was totaly amazed...well why not just go an pick these people up....toss em in jail....how much easier can it get?? ICBC just looked at me with shrugged shoulders an a blank look?? Too funny!!
All criminals in our society have more
rights than they should have.
Untill we as citizens demand (civil disobedience)change, get used to it.
Our government allows these scumbags to continue on with their lifestyle, they are the ones that are to blame for what goes on.
It always come back to our justice system and the courts,
Until something changes in their attitude, crime will only increase.
Political correctness and the fear of being questioned on ruling, has taken control of our judges.
Err on the side of caution at all times!
Better to let them go than have something appealed and make you look bad!
And then there is the shortage of places to put them, which accounts for hardened criminals ending up in minimum security prisons.
The B.C. justice system under Wally Oppal is an absolute disgrace!
No fear. Like the bumperr sticker says.
