Prince George, B.C.- The warm temperatures of late last week have brought on the spring freshet in a big way. The gazebo a Paddle Wheel Park  in Prince George, was under threat of being flooded last evening.

Yesterday, the River Forecast Centre issued a high flow advisory on the Fraser and this water is not expected to start receding until later this morning. The Fraser had risen at South Fort George by 2 meters since Thursday.

While local authorities say the high water level could mean rising ground water and seepage into basements in low areas, there were some who were asking questions about the impact on the construction of the twinning of the Simon Fraser Bridge.Opinion 250 is trying to locate the project manager to get some answers.

The water is also high   on the Bulkley River. It has been rapidly rising since the temperatures hit the high teens on Thursday. While the return today to cooler temperatures should help along the Bulkley and the Fraser, the forecast for rain  will do little to offset the cool down.

Sounds like the spring weather last year.
The areas that the bridge builders had cordoned off and pumped dry to work on the pilings have overflowed. Wonder how much money that's going to push the price up and how long it will delay it??
It shouldn't effect the contract price. It will come out of the contractors pocket. Thats why Bridge builders charge big bucks to begin with.
