Prince George, B.C. – Today, Prince George’s inside and outside workers will vote on the last contract offer from the City.
The Unions are recommending the deal be rejected.

Barry O'Neill will be the guest speaker at the general meeting which takes place at the Legion at 7:00pm tonight.

While details of the package have not been released, CUPE Locals  399 and 1048 have indicated the offer falls short in the final year, and would leave the workers behind settlements in other areas of the Province.

The 600 inside and outside workers have been without a contract since the end of December.

With the way things are going in the north they should be happy they have good paying jobs, if not there are lots of forestry workers that would love to take there place....
Reject the offer. What's the city going to do about it? Nothing. The city has no problem going back to the taxpayers for more money, so belly up to the table boys.
Great attitude PGDriver. What do you do for a living? City manager?
The offer looks good. CUPE would be stupid to reject it. Too many local union executive members with personal axes to grind and no grasp of reality.

Time for the membership to see past their BS and vote to accept a very fair offer (and maybe signal to them that their time is over).
The details of the package have not been released and you are able to make a decision on it? You gotta be a city manager.
The details were e-mailed to EVERY City employee (Union and non-Union) by the Acting City Manager late last week. It leaked out....go figure with 500+ people having a copy.

I'm definitely not a City Manager...that I can assure you.
