Public Hearings Highlight Council Session

Prince George, B.C. – Mayor Colin Kinsley will be making a presentation to his Council colleagues this evening advising that he is working with various government departments to see what role , if any, Prince George could play in assisting the residents of Mianyang China in the wake of the recent devastating quakes. He is thinking about the housing options developed locally that were presented as possible shelter following the Indonesian tsunami.
Council will hold one informal hearing and three public hearings on land issues one public hearing would see two parcels developed for the creation of a further 51 residential lots.
Also on the agenda for this evening, the request for an alcohol policy regarding parks, an update on the “Measuring Up” project as well as the Seniors Games.
Council will hear from the Tabor Mountain Recreation Society and be asked to join with the Regional District on a study about the feasibility of a Barkerville Connector route.

Er...ok...perhaps look after our homeless, and local shelters first. It is wonderful that the mayor is deeply concerned but our premier is already doling out our tax dollars to assist so how about we look after our own??
