Prince George, B.C. - Integris Credit Union appears to be the first to step forward to help those impacted by the devastating fires at North Central Plywood and Interior Warehousing.

“We understand the financial strain our members face with unexpected loss of income due to the fire.” states Brian Bentley, CEO of Integris Credit Union, “we encourage those members affected to come in and talk with us in regards to their loans and mortgages. We have options available to help bridge these difficult times including deferring payments for up to four months.”

As a community based financial institution, the Board and Management of Integris Credit Union have the ability to make decisions based on the needs of the communities it serves.   “Integris is able to react quickly when unforeseen things happen in our communities. To be able to have options available to our members will help alleviate some of the stress they must be feeling.” says LeRoy Vossler, Chair of the Board.

The Monday night fire destroyed the North Central Plywood plant, throwing 260 unionized workers off the job.

Good for Integris. It is quick actions like this that make me glad that I do my banking with them and not with one of the big banks. They care for the people they serve.
Kudos to Intregis. Hopefully Canfor will follow suit.
There were also 25 non-unionized managers thrown out of work. Do they not count?
Managers dont need help. They have been helping themselves all along.

Cheers

'Managers dont need help. They have been helping themselves all along'

Us vs. them.

Hard working Every-man vs. rich, cigar-smoking, capitalist pigs.

Oppressed working class vs. the elite Bourgeois.

Is there some kind of union comic-book out there that still teaches this kind of retarded crap?
Thanks Moses for a dose of common sense. I don't see the unions stepping up to the plate and building any worksites to actually employ people, they just keep sucking on the corporate tit and feeding all the sheep their leftovers.
So what if managers help themselves, at least they don't have to rely on an organization to stay employed, they keep their jobs through hardwork and planning.
Cheers!
Oh, and thanks Integris, you'll keep my business with that mentality.
"we encourage those members affected to come in and talk with us in regards to their loans and mortgages"

Where in this news article does it say that Integris is only going to help unionized employees? It says they will help their members impacted by the fire. Integris doesn't say the worker has to be unionized.
Well put Moses. I agree. There is still a lot of adversarial people out there, I was hoping they would become extinct though.
metalman.
Integris has always impressed me. I have been a member for many years. Kudos to them. This will definitely help NCP workers!
The headline should have read, "Credit Union opens vault for workers impacted by fire".
