Prince George, B.C. - Construction continues on the new Pinnacle Pellet plant just north of Dunkley Lumber.
In a partnership with Pioneer Family Timber, Pinnacle acquired the assets of TallOil Cananda. Those assets include four harvesting licenses totalling a little more than 1 million cubic meters per year of timber in the Burns Lake to Quesnel Region. Pinnacle has also recently signed a fibre purchase agreement with Dunkley Lumber.
The construction of the $15 million dollar plant at this particular site allows Pinnacle instant access to rail lines, as the line backs on to the property. It also offers easy access to residue from the Dunkley Lumber mill which is just 3 km down the highway.
Initially, the new plant is expected to create about 20 jobs.
This is the fifth pellet plant for Pinnacle. It currently operates plants in Houston (in partnership with Canfor and the Moricetown First Nations Band), Quesnel, Williams Lake and Armstrong.
