Prince George, B.C. - So, you want to see what’s new with the Cameron Street Bridge Construction, but you don’t want to actually drive to the site to see the activity. Well as luck would have it, the site is closed to the public, so no more pedestrians or bicycles going across the bridge.

In order to keep you up to date on what’s happening, the City of Prince George has installed a web cam.

The web cam will give you a view of the construction of the Bridge, and will be update every hour.

The work is to take place in the following stages:

  • Construction of the Pier caps and abutments (early summer)
  • Demolition of the Existing Timber structure (later summer)
  • Reconstruction of the Road intersections (summer and fall)
  • Construction of the two lane Concrete Superstructure (later summer and fall)

Mine niether
nope...didn't work for me either!
try: http://www.city.pg.bc.ca/pages/webcam/
when you get to the link hit the refresh button...
It worked for me...
Thanks
You think the city would have updated their web-sight by now - it seems to be stuck in the nineties - very bland indeed. Lets spruce it up!!
Oh don't say that about the city's web site. They will have to hire a consulting firm to see what people want on a web site, then another consultant to actually re-write it and then another consultant to do a follow up survey to see if people like it, all the while the city staff that maintain the present web site are not consulted :)
The PG City web site is attrocious. Not only does it look dated, it also is extremely difficult to locate information on it. The search engine is a clunker.

Even the smaller communities around us have better looking and better functioning sites. There is absolutely no comparison when it comes to cities in our size range.

We are a pothole on the net.
lol
Upper management for city works needs a major shake-up. The amount of money being spent for work completed is a joke. A contractor with this work completed record would be out of business. Hopefully this trip to China will give the Mayor a better perspective on how to delegate labour.
you people are a bunch of old complaining deadbeat losers. you have to find the negative in EVERYTHING.

how do you go from a webcam link to determining upper management needs a major shake-up.

try taking a posted story for face value once in a while rather than going off on another crazy rant about how this is the worst place in the entire universe.
Settle down there jigga!!!
sorry...i just get mad at the abundance of negativity that comes out of most peoples keyboards around here...

...but I guess im kinda adding to it with a rant like that!
jigga,I am not at all a negative person but these folks are bang on when talking about our city website. It is an embarrassement.
Truth hurts

The webpage is reflective of the city...
Dated and a dump.....

Yes everyone take Jiggas advice. I also think everyone should go to church because that will make everything all better. Lmao
Whats so bad about the city's website? I went to the city of Chilliwack and that one looks about on the same level as ours. What is it exactly that you would like to see on the City of Prince George website that isn't there? I have also visited the City of Victoria, Vancouver, St. Johns and several others and I don't see what the problem is???????
? Where the heck is Hiedi? Haven't heard from her in a long time.
"how do you go from a webcam link to determining upper management needs a major shake-up"

Follow the numbers ....

step 1 ... Web cam link is on city web site ....

step 2 ... city web site is now in view and some think it is not the best in the world ......

step 3 ..... upper management, especially communications/PR person is responsible for the City's communications, including web site ....

step 4 .... thus, upper management needs a shakeup .... who else would be responsible for the site....

I know, things like that are difficult to follow for some people ..... the natural progression from one topic to another escapes many in today's complex world of multi-tasking ....

;-)
One of the ideas of a web site is to make things easy for people to access and to find.

Here is the Williams Lake city ouncil agenda page ..... click on a date and see how nicely they present the agenda ....

http://www.williamslake.ca/index.asp?p=491

Use the search function and see how nicely they have put it together.

Here is PG site ....

[url]http://www.city.pg.bc.ca[/ulr]

Can you see anything that says council agenda on the face page?

when you find it, click on the latest agenda and see what happens ....

Basically you get to install 46 or so MBytes of data on your computer using and exe file system ..... not too many people want to do that. It also automatically wants to deposit it on C drive and create a dirtectory or folder. ....

very bothersome, puts many people off ... loads up their computers with junk ... the Williams Lake one is easy, user friendly ....

Any other questions????

Here is Kelowna ... nice bright page ... right near the top of the items is Community Plan open house ..... we have an OCP process going on in PG .... did you know that????? when are the open houses? ...

http://www.kelowna.ca/cm/site3.aspx

Here is Nanaimo's very nice site .... well done for getting around

http://www.nanaimo.ca

notice what is right out there for theirs ... BUDGET ... 2008 2012

plus their revised OCP ....

gee ... you would think they would want to follow PG's lead and keep that hidden .....

Sorry, the lack of transparency in this city is a sore topic with me ..... :-(
aw c'mon you lazy clickers..hehe..it isn't so bad lol

;)
