Prince George, B.C.  - The B.C. Government has announced a tender to improve Prince George and Cluculz Lake area roads for increased safety, announced MLAs John Rustad, Pat Bell and Shirley Bond.

"Seal coating the Cluculz Lake area roads will prolong their life, improve traction and increase safety," said Rustad, MLA for Prince George-Omineca. "I've been involved with this project for some time and I'm pleased we can provide smooth, safe travel for the residents of the Lake."

"Commuter and commercial traffic and addressing the Mountain Pine Beetle issues have taken its toll on our roads," said Bell, MLA for Prince George-North. "This project demonstrates our government's commitment to improving infrastructure and long term sustainability in the North."

"The improvements to roads within the Prince George and Cluculz Lake area will reduce dust and the need for grading," said Bond, MLA for Prince George-Mount Robson. "Investing in road infrastructure is a high priority for our constituents. I know they will welcome the additional work that will be done."

The work start date has yet to be determined; however completion is scheduled for August 30, 2008.  This project includes implementing a seal coat overlay of existing hard surfaced roads, extending the surface life, and new double seal coat on gravel roads.

So did all 3 of them say the same thing at the same time?
And what's with no picture?
My god,a photo opportunity lost forever!
I maybe confused, but all this story says is how they are improving cluculz lake roads, which is great but no how does this affect PG roads, I am sure Cluculz Lake needed improvements to there roads, but I wonder has any of our elected MLA's ever driven throught the BCR Site these roads here might as well be in a third world country since they are kept up so seperbly haha it just my opinion.
Iceman, City of PG has to pay for its own repairs on the roads, not the provincial government. Its hard to believe you manage to get this old, with out understanding simple things like this.
Whatever happened to the "four laning" of Highway 97?
That must have been just an election gimmick.
WHATEVER HE SPEAKS I read the article wrong
Rustad must have a cabin at Cluculz Lake. Cluculz lake will probably be in his new riding.

The City of Prince George pays for its **elitist** projects first, and then throws out a few crumbs for paving;.

1. 8 Million Camerson St Bridge
2. 5 Million Monolithic Sports Centre on the hill.Plus 400,000.00 per year operating costs.
3. 500,000.00 replay board at CN Centre.
4. 2.5 Million for Kin Connector. (Whatever that is)
5. 600,000.00 underpass in the hood area. (A rat and snake hole if there ever was one)
6. $2.75 Million for property on 4th and Victoria for a new police station, that we dont need.
7. $400,000.00 gaurantee for Horizen Air.
8. $500,000.00 tax rebates for certain business;s

To come:

1. Wreck the Playhouse Theatre after millions in renovations, so we can put in a car lot.

2. New police station approx $20 Million
3. New Performing Arts Centre approx $20 Million.
4. $15 Million to purchase the PG Golf and Curling Club.

Roughly $75 Million going into the wind. Where will the paving money come from.

"He speaks"

You really are not aware of the condition of our roads, are you???? Are you aware of anything, anything we should know about???? Anything important, like the poor condition of our roads, the Mayor going to China??? Just wondering!!
I thought the Police Station was in the $30+ million range ..... $20 million buys very little these days.

The new Duchess Park is $35 million ....
with all the mills going down we might not need all those road improvements who will there be to use them?
