Bulkley Valley Hospital Upgrading Electrical

Northern Health is advising residents in the Smithers area of an electrical system upgrade that will take place at Bulkley Valley District Hospital on June 24.

The hospital will switch to back-up generator power for about 14 hours as staff upgrade the facility's main electrical systems.

The electrical upgrade project will begin at 6:00 in the morning on Tuesday, June 24th. The hospital will switch to power from its back-up generators while the work is being done; while regular operations will not likely be affected, there is the potential for temporary interruptions to services in some departments.

Patients should continue to visit or call Bulkley Valley District Hospital as they normally would during the electrical upgrade, while being aware of the potential for minor delays in service on June 24th.
