Prince George, B.C. - Summer officially arrives at 5 p.m. (PST) on Friday June 20th,   and there is some optimism the better weather will arrive by then too.
Although it may seem as though Prince George is having a wetter and cooler than normal June, Jim Steele of Environment Canada says the weather hasn’t really been all that far off the normal mark.
“Last June, Prince George had a real blazer in the early part of the month with a high of 33 degrees on June 3rd “  says Steele who notes this year, June has been about 1 ½ degrees below the monthly mean temperature of 13.3 “Keep in mind though, there is still about half a month to go, so there is time for the temperature to redeem itself.”
It may be hard to believe but Prince George is below the norm for June rainfall too, as the monthly amount is typically in the 73 mm range, and at the half way mark of the month, the City has been hit with 19.4 mm.
Steele says it’s too early to give up on summer “I am optimistic this year, the second half of June will be much better and will lead us into a nice summer.” He says the stats suggest there is a 70% chance the temperature will make it to normal or above normal values in July and August, and there is a very good chance the region will see slightly below normal rainfall for the season. To be on the safe side, Steele says even if it stays cool there will be a benefit “Think of all the bargains you can get on summer clothes, so you will be all set for next year!”

Thats a very sobering thought considering the situation many of us in the region find ourselves in.
I call BS on that rainfall amount. I think them meteorologists should have a look at where they've got their rain-gauge. When I look down and see a pair of muddy boots on my feet, almost every day, that's a pretty good indication that some rain has fallen, and I'm talking more than one mm.

Wake up sheeple! These weathermen are planning something. Don't believe the rhetoric! We've known for so long we can't trust this bunch of weather prognosticators, and this just confirms it.

Can we blame this on the NDP's policies when they were in gov't? Goodness knows, the present gov't has nothing to do with erroneous weather forecasts.
Oh, it's all good then..... This crappy weather is only 1.5 degrees crappier than the usual crappy weather.
From Vanc: I have counted only 5 half decent days this year. It can't possibly be worse in PG. My camera is gathering dust, as I wait for sunny backdrops.
My recollection is that June use to be a very wet month with a lot of rain. That said, May use to be a very hot month with temperatures often getting close to or over 30 degrees. Sure we may be under the average for June but, after a long winter and little warm weather this spring, we deserve some nice sunny days.
Ahhh.... okay Don... I'll ask Mother to get right on that !!!!

Oh... wait.... here's Her reply...

" WHAT ??? YOU PUNY HUMANS WANT SUNNY DAYS ???

I'LL GIVE YOU SUN ... YOU UNGRATEFUL SNIVELLING TWITS !!

YOU POLLUTE AND CORRUPT AND WANT ME TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOU .... I'M TAKING THE SUMMER OFF... DEAL WITH IT !!!
