Candidate Forum Number 2

The candidates and the Jaycees nearly outnumbered the audience at the second candidates forum.

Held at a CNC Lecture theatre, 22 of the 26 Council Candidates were on hand.

There were 37 people on hand to watch the event.

Candidates were given a set of questions that were later drawn from the hat.

The bulk of the candidates made mention of the need to revitalize the down town.

Included in those running are 1 doctor, 2 lawyers, 4 businessman, 3 previous council members and 6 incumbents.

The next forum will be held Friday, November 4th. It is a Mayoralty candidates luncheon, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce it will run from noon -1:30 at the Ramada ($20+GST for Chamber members, $25+GST for non members, reserve a spot by calling 562-2454).

Today is the last day candidates can withdraw from the election and be sure their name will not appear on the ballot.
