You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. If I woke up at 1am and saw a group of 4 kids trying to get into my car, I can honestly say I'd just grab the phone, call the cops and wait. What else can you do? If you go outside and confront the punks, they'll either gang up on you, kick your ass ( maybe shoot or stab you ) or barring that, they'll be back another time because you came out and confronted them. They know where you live, so you'll have to be on watch all the time. I've had issues with kids doing minor crap at my place ( snowballs, eggs ) just random stuff. Both times, I've gone outside and told them to get lost, and they chirp at me and tell me to F-off. Now is my house a target because I did this? who knows, but until we're able to grab these little shits and knock them around without getting into trouble, they'll just continue to do this as they know we can't do jack squat about it.
