Prince George, B.C. - A former student at UNBC and former fill in talk show host on the "Meisner" radio talk show has been appointed to the Cabinet in Ottawa.

James Moore (in photo at right) was appointed as Sect. Of State for Asia Pacific Gateway, the 2010 Olympics, and Official languages.

31 year old Moore attended UNBC  during the period 1998-2000, during that time , 31 years old James also filled in on the radio program, “Meisner".

Moore was elected as the Member of Parliament for Port Moody-Westwood and Port Coquitlam in November 2000.

He is viewed as an up and coming figure in the Conservative party in Ottawa.

Moore's appointment came as no surprise to Ben  Meisner,”I am not surprised, some time ago I got a call from a national newspaper asking me what I knew about James, I told them to put a star beside his name because it is my belief that some time in the future he will be Canada’s Prime Minister."

Meisner said Moore displayed  his abilities  when he used to fill in  on the radio program "To just come in off the street and do a talk show in the manner he did, shows that he had a great deal of savvy and intelligence for his age, being appointed to the Cabinet comes as no surprise to me , he will move up the ladder quickly."

Moore is filling the portfolio that had been held by David Emerson, as Emerson has moved into Foreign Affairs to  fill the gap  created by the departure of Maxime Bernier.

Good for him!
He did do a great job filling in for Ben on the radio show.
Asia Pacific Gateway sounds like ring road potential for PG. That is where the federal funding for national gateway to Asia transportation infrastructure would come from after all isn't it? To bad we didn't have local politicians that could bring him the case while we have the Ministers ear? Time will tell I guess....
Port Moody Westwood Port Coquitlam should be proud of their local boy.
