Prince George, BC  - Just before 1:00 this morning, Prince George RCMP received a complaint of a half naked male rolling around in the bushes near the College Heights Pub. A police officer attended that location and subsequently arrested the male for being intoxicated in a public place.

While dealing with this male, an intoxicated female came to the attention of the RCMP member. She was also arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. Both individuals were transported to the RCMP detachment and lodged in cells. They were to be released when sober.

While conducting prisoner checks, the guard on duty observed the female to be unresponsive. The BC Ambulance Services were contacted and attempts to revive her were not successful.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

This incident is being investigated by North-District Major Crime Unit. An Independent Officer Review will be conducted to look at all circumstances surrounding the incident.

I'm beginning to think that anyone taken into custody who shows signs of not being in a normal state, drunk, on drugs, hyper-aggressive, whatever, should be examined by a nurse or paramedic automatically. Such people present a lot of risks, ranging from drug overdoses and bad reactions to drugs to illnesses that look like drunkenness (such as diabetic coma).
Oh good grief.
Party till you drop..........
She could have gagged .... I wonder how many cases of deaths due to people coming home to sleep in their own beds there are every year.

1 out of 100?
1 out of 1,000?
1 out of 10,000?

Then I wonder what the rate is for drunks who are unlucky enough to be taken into jail just for being drunk. Similar? Higher? Lower?

College Heights you say, eh?

Not downtown, eh?
whitewater, have some respect, that woman has a family.
She committed suicide. Her own doing.
Is there an echo in here? You sure are pushing that suicide idea lmorg.
