The community of Wells and the Barkerville Heritage Trust are happy to announce that gas is for sale again in Wells. New tanks are in place at the Wells Service Station.

The Wells Chamber and other community groups have been working for two months to find a solution that would provide a permanent fuel outlet for the community.

Judy Campbell, CEO of Barkerville, was the first to fuel up on Thursday morning. “Wells-Barkerville is a community that is known for working together to find creative solutions to problems, and this is just another example”, she commented as she pumped gas from the new tank. “We want to thank the owner of the Wells Service Station, Jay Vermette, for continuing to provide us with a viable location to house the new tanks”.

The groups are working with Bob Graham fuels in Quesnel and the Well service station to ensure that gas is available for not only international travelers, but also for snowmobilers in the winter as well.

Good news!
If gasoline is $1.40 in town I will guess it's going to be $1.80 in Wells.
Just to let everyone know gas in Wells is 138.9 cheaper than in PG. At least until the carbon tax kicks in Tuesday.
